I have South African Jewish clients and they think that talk of genocide in their country is nuts.

I only see crosses in the memorials for murdered South African farmers:

That’s a striking sight, but what I’ve found is claims of roughly 3,500 to 10,000 farm deaths over the past thirty years, with most estimates toward the low end.

There are 2.7-3 million white South Africans (including Afrikaaners and English.) The numbers of murdered are awful, but hardly a genocide.

I for one would never live there, but there are plenty of other African countries with greater danger to minorities, most spectacularly Sudan.

If Afrikaaners want refugee status, by all means let them apply. But recruiting them is absurd.

Because the Afrikaners are principally Dutch Reformed Church. There is also a good sprinkling of Huguenots [French] among them which explains the French names among the Afrikaners. One of the reasons for great wines coming from South Africa is that the Huguenots took French wine-making techniques with them to the Cape.
