Boston Dynamics’ advanced humanoid robot, Atlas, is set to begin trial operations in Hyundai Motor Group’s US manufacturing facilities later this year, marking a significant step in integrating cutting-edge robotics into automotive production, the company announced.
The all-electric Atlas, capable of performing complex tasks like sorting car parts and maneuvering heavy loads, will be deployed at Hyundai’s Metaplant in Georgia to test its capabilities in real-world factory settings. Atlas, unveiled in its electric form in April 2024, showcases elite athletic abilities, including running, crawling, and cartwheeling, enabled by custom-designed motors.
The robot’s deployment comes amid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), which Kuindersma noted could be a “game changer” for physical intelligence in robotics.

LOL,one of my daughters has a Roomba. I’ll have to let her know about this…😮
I’m beginning to think Tiger’s Javier Báez is bionic/AI.
What about Skubal?
Tesla is also making remarkable strides in the robot development field as well. I’d like to see a good Tesla Republican-robot knocking on my door as part of their get out the vote effort in the mid term elections.
I live 2 exist East of that Hyundai Meta Plant. It is absolutely humongous. I’ve been all around the U.S.-grew up in Ohio and did a fair amount of business in Detroit. This Hyundai complex dwarfs anything I’ve seen in Detroit, Dearborn/Rouge River, Lordstown, Moraine and anywhere else.
Whoever rejuvenated his career...should be made King and Pope.
