I don’t think there has ever been a “king of Germany.”

Lol! So true.

But the Albanians come up with cooler names like King Zog. What could be cooler than King Zog?

Probably not a bad idea, but the execution leaves a little to be desired. Thank heaven our own Emperor Norton ended the U.S.'s brief experiment:

Norton I., Dei Gratia, Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico, being desirous of allaying the dissensions of party strife now existing within our realm, do hereby dissolve and abolish the Democratic and Republican parties, and also do hereby decree disfranchisement and imprisonment, for not more than ten nor less than five years, to all persons leading to any violation of this imperial decree. Norton I. Given at San Francisco, CA, this 12th day of August, A.D., 1869 (Quoted in San Francisco Herald, Friday, 13 August, 1869)

I dunno...I could swing with that...

Exactly—It is the Muslims who are going to chop off the heads of these German bureaucrats—not some lonely kook calling himself a king.

Sadly, there was only one King Zog:

Of course there’s only one Halle Berry, too.

I'm sure that post #22 does an adequate job of explaining your error, but let me add: ALL of the emperors of the "Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation" (Heiliges Römisches Reich Deutscher Nation) were first "Kings of the Germans" before the Pope subsequently crowned them emperors (though some were forced to abdicate or died as kings before the coronation).

One famous example is that of Heinrich IV (catchword "Road to Canossa"), who was "King of Germany" for three decades before his coronation as emperor.

Regards,

There was Bavaria’s allegedly “Mad” King Ludwig.
He was nuttier than a Snickers bar.
