It's hard to believe now, but in his early years in power, the late Robert Mugabe mostly left the white farmers in Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia), because, like Mandela, he was intelligent enough not to kill the goose that lays the golden eggs. Mugabe's main focus while in power (other than large-scale graft) was to settle scores with enemies from other tribes.
When his mismanagement of the country created enough public unrest that his rule was in jeopardy, Mugabe realized that he needed both a scapegoat and at least a short-term way of buying the loyalty of his people, so he adopted a campaign of terrorizing and displacing white farmers and handing their land over to his loyalists, who of course ran the farms into the ground within months.
The same scenario is gradually playing out in South Africa.
Foolishly, because Thabo Mbeki was extremely well educated, sort of sounded reasonable, many foolishly assumed that he would be okay. NOPE, he was worse and with each succeeding president, it grew worse and worse and WORSE!
Pretty much except 4.5 million whites in SA
not a pretty future for them
Or us if we don’t get a grip
