I forget that we finally have an America Pope.

He’s going to get ‘tons’ of attention from the general (secular) public.
Some, because of him being the ‘First’ American born Pope.
Some, because he may differ a bit with the late Pope Francis on certain issues.

I hope he bides his time and his duties, managing not to become overwhelmed with all the attention and requests for his time. You don’t have to accept every single request for an interview, at least not right away.

I agree but this was a general audience with the press and is standard after a new Pope is chosen.

That can be a good thing. Or it can be a bad thing.

Time will tell.

Personally, I was hoping for an African or an Indian Pope. They're more likely to be conservative. The American Pope spent many years in Peru. So we'll see.
