“A&W Root Beer for me.“

_______

I hear you. I keep A&W and Seagram’s Ginger Ale in stock.

I really like those two. I rarely drink either, but keep it for friends and family, mostly. I drink the ginger ale with my whiskey when I drink it and the root beer with my southern barbecue, which I truly mastered out of necessity while being displaced in New England for work for a couple of decades.

Yeah, the Arnold Palmer has been around forever, and the Arizona Iced Tea people have licensed the name for their cans/bottles/jugs. You can even get it from the self-serve fountains at Buc-ee’s. And in my part of the world at least (the Southeast), I’ll ask servers if they have lemonade, if they say yes I say “I’ll have an unsweet Arnold Palmer”, and pretty much everyone knows what I want.

True. As a Southerner, I jokingly objected to being called a “Yank”.

Isn’t it fun being farang/barang/tay in SE Asia? They call us other things too, most of which are against FR rules so we’ll skip those. :) I guess “round-eyed hairy hands” is allowed.

Yes, an Ar-ah See Cola and a Moon Pie. You can’t get more Southern than that! Unless you also put goober peas in your Ar-ah See. Then again, you might just be from Jaw-jah. They do love their goober peas in Jaw-jah. And pee-cans, too. But they never put pee-cans in their dopes, only goober peas.

They got Goo Goo Clusters with pee-cans now. I reckon we started making those for our kin down in Jaw-jah but we Tennesseans find them mighty tasty, too.

Me in a restaurant: I’d like a Coke.
Waitress: We have Pepsi…
Me: Dr. Pepper, please.

Born and raised near Waco; went to Baylor; definitely grew up on Dr. Pepper. We used to have Dr. Pepper hour at Baylor; they probably still do. The Dr. Pepper Museum is practically mandatory for all incoming freshman, lol.

I’m glad to see that Dr. Pepper is coming up in the world.

I like black tea with lemonade too. Prefer a Pimm’s cup or a Cape Cod.

Yeah some are pretty good. The Guy on the right of the Photo, Jersey #23 who plays the father always talking up his son looked real familiar. I finally placed my finger on it, he was on an old TV show 1999-2005, Third Watch. Officer Boscorelli “Bosco” played by Actor Jason Wiles.

The Beatles original name for the Sgt. Pepper album was Dr. Pepper, until the legal department informed them that there was a soft drink company named that in America and they were afraid of a lawsuit!............

We used to get Dr Pepper from a fountain drink stand. Definitely prune juice basis. I like it. Always have.

When it gets hot here in central TX, (due in about a week or two) I tend to cool my thirst with a 44 oz drink from Bucees. 1/4 mountain dew, 1/4 big red, 1/4 root beer and 1/4 vanilla soda with cane sugar. Can sip on that all afternoon while doing the projects!
