Pirro in Power: The Left Can’t Even Right Now May 9, 2025

They need to invade again because current American music has been in a dark age for years.
Was it Brand X? I just found out about them weeks ago. I was blown away at how good they were and that I’ve literally never heard of them back in the 70s or 80s.
DL? Yuck. Queen or Pink Floyd clearly better.
THE 45 COMMUNIST GOALS AS READ INTO THE CONGRESSIONAL RECORD, 1963
22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to “eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.”
23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. “Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art.”
Moroccan Roll is the second one I have, and it is very good.
Well, better late than never. I don’t know why they didn’t get more attention, they were really very good. John Goodsall guitars, Percy Jones bass, Phil Collins drums, Robert lumley keys, with various other players through the years. Mostly instrumental jazz/rock fusion. My cup of tea.
I still have my vinyl copy that I bought in ‘79 or ‘80.
2. Beatles
3. Rolling Stones
4. The Who
5. Fairport Convention
A very unique sound, too bad it didn't last.
Well, Johnny was a schoolboy when he heard his first Beatles song
“Love Me Do, “ I think it was, from there it didn’t take him long
Got himself a guitar, used to play every night
Now he’s in a rock and roll outfit, everything’s alright
-Shooting Star (Bad Company)
Well, until we all agree the Beatles should be #1, I’m out. But I won’t hold my breath :)
Stone Roses...they are amazing!
“Before moving to Australia, Barry, Robin and Maurice were born and spent their earliest years on Ellan Vannin, also known as the Isle of Man, a British Crown dependency.”
Wonder if they met “Happy Jack”?
Though art is subjective, I know crap when I see or hear it.
Fank Zappa said the Shaggs were “better than the beatles”. If you don’t know who the Shaggs are, you are in for a real, um, treat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxPsXPCR5MU
Their story: https://faroutmagazine.co.uk/the-story-of-the-shaggs-the-beatles/
And then there is Captain Beefheart...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9lpLm7jwQY
That album is worth a LOT of money.
“Skinny people want what fat people has…”
So is another Manchester area band that preceded them by a few years, The Chameleons. My turntable went belly-up (too much beer spilled on it) and I bought a CD player, then had to wait years for Strange Times to be made available as a CD.
The Smiths were THE Manchester band.
So do I, both albums vinyl and in very good condition. I need to get some cd’s so I can listen in my car.
