Lawyer's chilling new acts after he was freed from jail for spiking pregnant wife with abortion drugs

A lawyer who was jailed last year for spiking his pregnant wife with abortion drugs has been arrested again after violating a protection order.

Mason Herring, 40, was sentenced last February to 180 days in jail for putting an abortion drug, Misoprostol, in his ex-wife's water, which led to the premature birth of their child.

As a result of Herring's actions, his wife, Catherine, became ill, and their child was born with developmental delays.

Herring has since served his sentence, but he was arrested again on Wednesday for twice violating the protection order barring him from coming within 500 feet of his ex-wife, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Herring was accused of calling Catherine twice on February 11 and waiting in the lobby of his apartment on February 22 when she arrived to pick up their children from a supervised visit.

Then again, on March 23, police alleged Herring pulled up in his car near where his wife was dropping their children off, knowing that she would be within 500 feet of him.

Herring was pictured smiling in his mugshot and was booked into the Harris County Jail on Wednesday.

Would it kill them to mention the state, and not just the county? There are a lot of Harris Counties in the U.S. Not everyone knows (certainly not UK readers) that the big one includes Houston.

put drug in ex wife’s water.....(later in article)....his wife...

these authors of articles need to learn to be more clear in their wording so readers don’t have to guess.

Considering a recent go round with a lawyer I used to respect as almost a friend, I agree completely.

If he paid planned parenthood he’d be celebrated for choice.

Once the State declared a mother could legally terminate the life of a child without the consent of the father, the father could also terminate the life of the child without consent of the mother.

"If a woman makes a unilateral decision to bring a pregnancy to term, and the biological father does not, and cannot, share in this decision, he should not be liable for 21 years of support... autonomous women making independent decisions about their lives should not expect men to finance their choice." - Karen DeCrow, former President of the National Organization for Women (NOW), telling the that court in 1981 that former NYPD detective Frank Serpico should not be held to a child support order on the grounds that the mother had deceived him into the pregnancy by lying about taking the contraceptive pill.

The mother can't even argue he was practicing medicine without a license because he has the same argument she has when she claims "my body, my right" despite it being the child's body.

"I didn't give the drug to her; I gave it my child."

What an absolute horror story.

Why is the dad allowed supervised visits of his children?

However, The two charges (being within 500 ft of the ex wife appear unintentional given that the court have mandated supervised visitation with the children. That act by the court invites events between the parents where 500 foot is not maintained.

1. Why did he call. To me the most serious charge as these two are clearly deliberate.
“Herring was accused of calling Catherine twice on February 11”

2. Standing in his Lobby…
“waiting in the lobby of his apartment on February 22 when she arrived to pick up their children from a supervised visit. “

3. Pulling up his car. There are limits on what you can do in a car in traffic.
“on March 23, police alleged Herring pulled up in his car near where his wife was dropping their children off, knowing that she would be within 500 feet of him. “
