I experienced the same thing from our small town library. I donated some great research books on history in perfect condition except for dust cover tears, which I felt people might want to read. One was a complete listing and history of every warship sunk in WW II.

Four days later, I am going into the Salvation Army store, 40 miles away, and out walks a man with MY TWO BOOKS he had just purchased there. I recognized them by every tear in the dust cover as what I had donated to my local library.

It appears our local library wanted “fluff” books not serious historical books. I proceeded to read my local librarian the RIOT ACT! and have never donated a book to them since.
I now donate books to a local library 40 miles away in another state. They are still there being used by the locals as I checked and was thanked by the librarians for them.

Our Liberalaraian retired and oassed the job on to her daughter. Who I knew well.

The daughter was SO liberal in a school meeting she openly said she wished “GANG TYPE” kids would move in so we could get more diversity.

I’m obviously telling the truth as I can’t even make shit up like that.
