When a new branch of the California State University System opened its doors to accept it’s first students since its founding, I recall reading about Latina focused Algebra classes etc. , and required projects for all students ‘contributing to society’ (my wording).
I went to check on how Cal State Monterey Bay was doing today. They still have a minor in Social Justice, for now.

Univ. of West Florida utilized over $800,000 in federal funding from NSF to train math and science teachers how to promote social justice and “cultural responsiveness” in their classrooms.,



Using designated federal funding for a purpose other than for what it’s intended can be a crime because it violates the Appropriations Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which requires that federal funds be used only as authorized by Congress.

As well, using federal funds for lobbying or influencing federal officials related to grants, contracts, or other federal actions is prohibited.

Additionally, using federal funds for unauthorized purposes is not allowed,
