I’m thinking the Catholic church gets a lot of its new converts from the immigrant community?<

In years past, it went the other way. Latino Catholics would immigrate to the US (legal and illegal) and would join a non-Catholic Church for a variety of reasons. I don’t know if that is as big a deal. I think today many were weak in practice and just abandon altogether.
