I've used several versions of windows over the years. I'm using eleven now,
on a fairly decent laptop.

There is far too much garbage included in eleven. With every update I have to
sift through and turn off the useless crap.

That said, edge, the browser that replaced internet explorer, has proven to be
inept, allowing unwanted cookies, etc, to infiltrate and slow down browsing.

This happens at the strictest setting 'allowed' in edge.

That’s because Edge is just Google Chrome with a new paint job and the serial numbers filed off.
