Julia Ross secures employment as an aid to a wealthy widow, Mrs. Hughes, and goes to live at her house. Two days later, she awakens in a different house in different clothes and with a new identity.
The film concerns itself with a familial conspiracy, and what better ringleader for a coverup than Dame May Whitty, who turns a young woman’s life (Nina Foch) into a living nightmare. A fine exercise in gothic atmosphere and economical filmmaking that proves you don’t need a lavish budget to make a chilling thriller.
Film Noir - "My name is Julia Ross" (1945, full movie)

Yes, this IS a very good movie!
Thanks for the pings! Great movies. Keep the coming!
LOL...the cockney cleaning lady said “My sister had her ‘appendix out,’ too. She was scrubbing and cleaning the very next week.”
“Nothing bothers her now. She’s dead.”
I thought it was a very tedious movie
I appreciate the fact that it is only 65 minutes long. Don’t feel obliged to make a long movie for foreign markets. Take the time you need to tell your story , and wrap it up.
I am watching it now. A little heavy on the foreshadowing and even the happy ending, but acting is fine.
I saw this one. It’s good!
Gasp, and not a lesbian among them.
I finished the movie. It was food. Thank you for the recommendation.
Good recommendations
, thank you. Kind of another take on Gaslight. Many other similar films years after. Pretty well done for low budget affair.

I don’t know if it’s considered film noir or not, but a really good movie, The Two Mrs. Carrolls, with Humphrey Bogart and Barbara Stanwyck.
I just finished watching “My Name is Julia Ross” — great noir movie. Thanks for pinking me.
I think I saw that decades ago, so it was like watching it for the first time.
