Having a loaded pistol in the commission of a felony is a crime, but it’s not a threat to police, especially when the felon was running away. Killing the felon represents murder.
Using a vehicle to intentionally run down and kill a person is murder with malice.
The actor dropped the firearms when falling out of the stolen vehicle and retrieved it before running.
The actor intentionally rearmed himself to flee the LEOs.
An armed felon is per se a more-dangerous and threatening felon.
The felon could have, at any time, unholstered the weapon and begun shooting at his pursuers.
It is not incumbent upon the police to wait until the perpetrator actually begins firing his weapon.
Running away from the police does not lessen the threat posed by the armed felon.
And as for the father: He should be charged with 1st Degree Murder.

A criminal with a gun is running from the police ignoring calls to stop and drop his weapon. According to the article the criminal is running with that gun while refusing to drop his weapon TOWARDS an officer and the officer shoots the criminal.
Justified shooting by the cop.
That’s not how the law works. If you are committing a felony and have a weapon, the police can AND WILL assume you intend to use that weapon and will act accordingly. It would be stupid for them to assume otherwise.
