I never said “gown”, just “dress”. Also, I wasn’t referring to that one specific event. Since she became FLOTUS 47, she has dressed much less femininely overall. More pants; fewer dresses and skirts. Even her official portrait, although gorgeous with a badass aura (which I love), is masculine.
Anyhow, it doesn’t matter. It is what it is. People say that she’s always trying to make a statement with the outfit she wears. If that’s true, she knows exactly what she’s doing, and good for her.
Perhaps there's no real reason behind it, but perhaps she thinks that she's "sending a message": I'M THE BOSS, THE BADASS...whatever, which doesn't work either, IMHO.
Isn't THAT thinking the THIRD WAVE FEMINIST...WE DON'T NEED ANY MEN, THEY ALL STINK thing that everyone here seems to hate when a LEFTY pulls it?
