They want to see "the numbers". Which numbers would those be?
They want $4 for each beer sold and $3 for each hot dog, 7% of all memorabilia sales, 10% of all rents, plus 4 luxury boxes for the city council’s exclusive use, four score of 50 yard line seats plus 12 years time 4 seats for any ex council members with annual parking passes in a special lot with easy in and out access. You know, numbers.
Vote No unless they agree to change back to “Redskins”.
Yet our politicians continue to throw our tax dollars away to bring them to their cities...
Can you imagine this Council?, a DC Council! Nothing but a Cadre of gypsy's, murders, and thief's whom are for sale for the right price.
Change the name back to Redskins.
Agreed.
Do teams still have personal seat licenses for new stadiums? I recall hearing how teams could bypass public funding for a stadium, if they could sell enough season tickets along with mandatory personal seat license payments.
I have not kept up with that subject, to know how that ever worked out for teams which used seat licenses.
Of course it wouldn’t pass, he works for TRUMP now and that’s all that matters to the Left.
Honestly I don’t care if they change the teams name, not my business and I don’t care enough about the NFL… but “commanders” is one of the most boring, bland, nondescript, unenthusiastic names for a team I could think of. Redskins is far preferable as far as emotional connection goes. Rams, Raiders, Chargers, heck even Dolphins has more of a connection. Even Browns, Vikings, Seahawks, Cowboys, Falcons…. Considering they are from Washington, the namesake of our heroic general and first president, they should have taken a name related to him, his battles, his victory whathaveyou. For pure alliteration, the Washington Warhawks would have been better.
I don't think the demand is there.
Even "Washington Generals" would have been better. But they would never have gone for that in 2020. It would have referred to George Washington. Remember he's a bad guy now.
If the seats were free, I doubt they could fill half a stadium.Nobody goes into DC anymore.
That name is reserved for the foils of the Harlem Globetrotters but maybe they don’t use it anymore.
Washington Colonels.
Time to pass out more season tickets to them and hire more of their relatives to $100,000 no show jobs.
The council wants a bigger grift.
