So you’re at home and don’t feel like making dinner. You’re going to jump in you car to get take-out food.
Choice A: Just drive to a fast food joint, go through the drive through, spend $13 for unhealthy and garbage food.
Choice B: online order from a restaurant before leaving, something tasty and healthy, then get in your car and drive there, with the ‘drawback’ of having to go inside and pick it up (although many have ‘pick up’ parking spots you can wait in), with often no waiting as it was made while were driving....still for $13.
I find fast food to be a dinosaur industry. It used to be fast to order, pay, drive off, ...for a cheap and unhealthy meal. It is no longer faster, cheaper, better tasting, and people are becoming more health conscious. It used to be an alternative to the only option, dining in.
There’s even in-vehicle infotainment apps that let you order (via AI voice recognition) while driving. I can get Thai, Greek, Italian, Indian, etc. - why would I choose fast food? The internet has made all food orders fast, pick up orders are a significant part of their sales.
High prices and very small portions. I got a breakfast sandwich the other day and it was $6 just for the sandwich. That’s ridiculous.

What is on the menu that doesn’t spike blood sugar? If you’re watching what goes in your mouth, hips, belly, McD’s doesn’t offer much.
The breakfast sausage is good, without the bread.
who wants to pay $10+ for a piece of crap
Gee I wonder if has anything to do with the fact that much of McDonald’s food is disgusting. And the other chains are offering some pretty good deals.
Trump tariffs are the scapegoat for everything now.
Prices have become ridiculous. Who wants to pay $8 to $11 for a meal that used to cost $3.50 before the pandemic? It’s cheaper to go to the local Chinese place and order two items, and you can put half of each in the refrigerator for tomorrow.
Cold limp fries, and small luke warm dried out beef patties covered in cold cheese placed in oversized buns served with a sometimes decent Coke. All for just $12 and 10 minute wait.
No the McD’s of my youth. But for the under 40 crowd it’s indistinguishable from the school lunches they grew up on. Especially the nuggets.
So McDonalds is now a person who gives interviews to news organizations? 🤣
Pressures that our consumers are facing.
Yes here in California you pay entry level job to people $20,00 an hours might be a problem ya think.
Your of the menu list.
Closing stores due to crime and filth in cities like San Francisco.
It is McDonald’s which should be getting nervous about selling expensive fast food.
In Wisconsin, the buger meat is primarily from dairy cows. At least it used to be.
They actually have to add tallow to it so they can make the patties.
Many a old bessy went down to the slaughter house from dairy farms.
McDonald’s got rid of a lot of their “deals” this past quarter.
Only thing really left is the $5 meal deal, and the $3 coffee and donut.
Nearly everything else, you are looking at $10-$12 or more per person to eat at mcdonald’s.. and frankly, at that price, people are going to say, eff it, I’ll go to the bar or restaurant down the street and pay $12-$15 and get a real burger and be waited on.
Egg McMuffins are the only things I get at Mickey D - they are usually good (though not as good as the ones I make myself). Had one from them just the other day and it was lousy - everything overcooked and dried out. They did have someone who spoke plain English and was courteous running the drive-thru though - instead of the usual grunting neanderthal. Maybe they learned something from Chik-Fil-A.
