I visited a different church today and was pleased to hear the opening prayer include the statement, "Father in Heaven, we know that without those whose sacrifices we honor on Memorial Day, we wouldn't even be free to come to church to worship YOU..."

I was so moved by the images (below) last year that I put them at the top of the 2024 Memorial Day thread. There are other images honoring the fallen on that thread which I have paused to review. They continue to contribute to my thoughts with Memorial Day upon us once again this year.
