Joe's prostate cancer is 'endocrine related' and controllable with 'endocrine therapy.' What does this mean?
First, Joe has very high test readings of testosterone; testosterone is like hi test fuel to prostrate cancer. That raises two questions - clinically, private information - 1/ does Joe have unusually high readings for an advanced elderly person, or 2/ has Joe been taking testosterone injections? ?
Those two questions, especially #2, raises the question: When the Dr prescribed testosterone shots (or IF the Dr discovered high presence of testosterone), did the Dr inform Joe of the dangers of prostrate cancer and test for it? Prostrate cancer at some level is likely in any elderly male?
The therapy for very high testosterone is to reduce its production drastically. Reduced testosterone is a complaint for elderly still wishing to maintain an active sexual behavior.
Where in this clinical maze does Joe fall? Did he seek to maintain an active sex life? Did his Dr know of prostate cancer and ignore it? Was an attempt made to reduce Joe's testosterone? Many unanswered questions... Likely to remain unanswered.
From my own view: is Joe being punished for an overactive sex life, possibly for many many years? Did promiscuous behavior lead him to this crushing 'judgment' near his end? Perhaps harsh analysis on my part... but I thought I would outline my thoughts for explanation's sake or revelation's sake - overall.
‘Prostate’ misspelled a few times! Auto correct or author’s slow recovery from surgery and anaesthesia? 🤷
Maybe Joe’s aggressive public outbursts were due to testosterone injections?
