If you are old enough to remember the Vietnam War or to have studied it in school, this will sound familiar.
The Fake Narrative
The political leadership of the United States, President Lyndon Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, wanted to prosecute the Vietnam War with as limited a force as possible. The “military,” knowing that a large force would be necessary, attempted to build the force through incremental, ever increasing troop requests. Ultimately, the never-ending requests and the growing quagmire disillusioned McNamara.
The origin of this narrative can be traced to a book titled The Pentagon Papers. The Secret History of the Vietnam War as Published by the New York Times. This book was not the complete study stolen by Daniel Ellsberg. It included some of the Papers, but four reporters (Neil Sheehan, Hedrick Smith, E.W. Kenworth, and Fox Butterfield) took turns explaining to the rest of us what various portions of the Papers meant. The beginning of McNamara’s so-called disillusionment came at the end of 1965. The Times story was that at the end of 1965 U.S. commander General William Westmoreland “suddenly found it necessary to request a vast increase in troops for Phase II of his plan. The General said he would need 154,000 more men.”
The Actual Plan
Here is the actual account from the complete 12-volume Government Printing Office Pentagon Papers that the above story purports to summarize. By early 1965 the Johnson administration concluded that direct involvement of U.S. ground forces would be necessary to win the war. During the first half of the year the administration worked out a three-phase plan that should result in victory in early 1968. Phase I would raise troop strength to 175,000 by the end of the year. The goal was to “stop losing.”

Ho Chi Minh was a Comintern agent from 1917, and a founding member of the French Communist Party.
Yes, history is messy. But, in retrospect, we won the war in Vietnam in the long run.
I often wonder if it was the direct experience with the decent United States soldiers, their obvious goodness and the obvious benefits of Capitalsism, which lead to the de-facto capitalism of Vietnam today. Americans are welcome in Vietnam today.
Ho Chi Minh was in Paris at the time of the Paris Peace Conference in 1919 but could not get the great powers interested in self-determination for Vietnam. Self-determination was a great idea but only applied to the colonies of the defeated Central Powers, not to those of France, Britain, Italy or Belgium.

both the Russian and Chinese Communist parties
never would have come to power in those 2 countries
with out
the Marxists in the United States help.
They were here then
and their commie spawn are still in our government.
They are on the cusp of handing our country and the world to the CCP.
This is the history our public schools made sure we never heard.
Push this out to everyone.

Excuse me, but most thinking people tend to look at facts and patterns to make predictions. Too bad, you don't. Maybe you're not among the thinking people. Good luck.
What we have is a leftist establishment continually sabotaging what successes we have had.
Oh sure. It's them leftist reporting on that helicopter on the top of the building escaping from Vietnam, that Air Force plane escaping Afghanistan with people falling to the ground, or that Bay of Pigs that went so well, the destruction of the country of Ukraine that's lost almost half their population thanks to the billions we've sent there. Or how about them Hoothies that we claim to have bombed back to the stone age, and probably spent over a billion in doing so, that are still shooting down our drones and attacking our carriers? You know, the same carriers that keep losing jet planes over the side. Look at all those wars/military actions and tell me which countries on the receiving end are better today as a result.
By the way, that don't count the lies we're told, like WMDs in Iraq, or them commies bombed us in the Gulf of Tonkin and so many more. And finally, more importantly, please tell me how we can continue to spend over a trillion a year on the military with borrowed money for military bases around the world. Better yet, how will we deal with the interest of a trillion on the debt we've accumulated in doing all that to save the planet?
I've got a novel idea. Why not save ourselves first?
Thank you, Mr. Twain. You're really one smart dude.
The French released a certain Cleric from prison, when the Shah went to the US for medical treatment for cancer. If memory serves correct. The ME erupted into flames shortly afterwards. The Europeans, whether Brits or the Frenchies haven’t done the US a favor in 250 years for one, and 215 years for the other.
