Officer Rebecca Sayegh
Class B Award – For displaying a high degree of initiative, professionalism, job of proficiency and/or ability.
On January 28th, 2021 Officer Sayegh responded to Loxley Drive with regard to a possible structure fire. On scene it was found that the residence was fully involved. Officer Sayegh was first on scene, learned the home owner was unaccounted for and likely still inside.
Officer Sayegh went to the front door and made entry, locating Ms. Nicolo and her pets. Officer Sayegh was able to escort Ms. Nicolo and her pets across the street to safety. Officer Sayegh is commended for her swift action, bravery, and lifesaving actions.
There was a time when women were not feral, murderous animals.
What is the chance that a boyfriend or girlfriend was inside the residence, or an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend?
Their fault
Per a news story with details I won’t post on FR:
“
In 2018, Sayegh underwent breast augmentation surgery. When she returned to work, she “became aware that one of her co-workers texted a photograph of reconstructed breasts to her fellow officers, falsely claiming that the woman in the photograph was her.
One of her co-workers, Officer Brian Dugan asked her, “How are the new boobs?” in the presence of other male officers, which “deeply embarrassed her.”
Toms River police officers quickly learned of what had happened at the golf outing, and that it became the source of jokes within the department.”
Instead, Sayegh says that officers undertook a campaign of harassment and retaliation against her, including being forced into a meeting with then-Lt. Peter Sundack (now acting chief) “at which time he questioned plaintiff’s psychological fitness for duty and ability to respond to said sexual assault call.”
The lawsuit also states that Sayegh was scored last of 40 applicants for a sergeant’s position in 2023.:
It remains unclear whether Sayegh had any prior relationship or connection to the people in the home she invaded.
