I went into anaphylactic shock after a platelet transfusion. Fortunately I was in the hospital. Scariest thing I ever experienced. It took multiple Benadryl injections, along with steroid injections, breathing treatments in the oxygen.
My BP dropped , couldn’t breathe. I truly thought I was going to die. They were about to intubate me when the treatments started taking effect. It happened fast and most people (out at dinner) do not have access to the type of treatment I was given.
Glad you pulled through.
One of the most horrid allergic reactions is when someone swallows an allergen......
they usually dont know they are allergic to the item.
The throat swells——closes up tight——no air can get in.
Of course, the lack of air is fatal.
The accepted way to test if you are allergic is to apply the substance right below
your underarm-——to the upper part of your arm....if allergic, you will get a reaction.
