That’s what testing is for.
No doubt injection is quite serious and happens more often than thru a port directly into the artery. I’ve heard the term ‘impending doom’ and that is exactly the way it felt. My Bp was at 60/40 and was passing out… the ability to breath was so difficult . I was resisting passing out so hard as I thought that was it… The injections weren’t working fast enough. It took 3-4 Benadryl injections and multiple steroids. I asked in the best way I could .. ‘what happen if I pass out and can’t breath’ they said they were about to intubate me. There was something very reassuring to know there was a plan in place.
Haven’t needed a transfusion for a while, but they ‘pre-treat’ with Benadryl and Tylenol before hand to prevent any possible reactions,
I had many other platelet transfusions before that incident and never had an issue. So, they investigated the bag. All I got was it was a ‘bad bag’. Whatever that means. I think there are multiple donors in each bag of platelets: something wasn’t right that’s for sure.
As for this guy, I’m truly interested in his motive. Maybe I’m wrong, but It seems pretty clear and he’s a psychopath.
Sorry I missed typed - it went into the subclavical vein not artery.

Strange thing about allergies.....one day you’re not allergic.....next day you are.
They still dont have the answers w/ allergies.
