That would work for a lot of folks as a second or third car. Maybe chain a Honda generator in the bed if top ups are needed.
Chase Bank, a nearby gas station and the local Walmart supercenter have put in chargers in the last few months, so finding one is getting easier. (Walmart has put in a LOT of them at their closest location).
Charging at a Walmart or other department store or a gas station, etc., costs way more than charging at home. I talked to a Tesla owner and he said the cost is as much as 3 times more than at home. You do have to have a charging station installed at home though, no idea what that cost is.
