“wasn’t on windows 3 minutes before a freaking blue screen of death happened- rebooted, another minute goes by, another body, then another.”
They are even changing that... Now it will be a Green Screen of Death...
“Windows 11: Green Screen of Death is rolling out, what you need to know:
Microsoft’s Windows 11 operating system displays a blue screen error page when something unexpected happens that requires a restart. Soon, Windows users will see a green screen of death instead. Here is what you need to know about the change.
The details:
Windows 11 test versions show a green screen error page when the device restarts unexpectedly.
The error page displays the stop code and “what failed” only.
The QR code, smiley, and link to a Windows help page are no longer displayed.
The new error page is empty for the most part. It includes the phrase “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart” and technical information at the bottom.”
The error codes flash by so fast I can’t see what they are. I know there is a list of unexpected shutdown file somewhere, but I always forget where- I spend too much time with windows errors! There is a “fix” that is something like “scanfsc” but deeper scan- now I have to look that up again, and run it- it wo4ked one time, stopped all the bsods- now ill have to fix the gsods I guess
I gu3ss what needs to be done is to put a link on desktop to the file location for the error reporting file. I’ve been able to figure out a couple of error fixes from those files, but many are obscure with no real help to fix em. But like I said, I spend too much time trying to fix windows- its gotten really bad- windows 7 never had these problems, at least not for me-
I haven't seen an screen of death for years AFAIR, after I increased compatible RAM, running at staple Hz, working with with SSD and NVME drives. Despite running multiple browsers with hundreds of open tabs, plus many documents, and programs.
