Rushing the vaccine into production was the whole point of Operation Warp Speed. Trump wanted a vaccine within a year and he got his wish. Covid was a SARS virus, only the second one ever seen. The first SARS back in 2002-2003 had a mortality rate over 10%. That’s higher than the 1918 Flu and it’s why the CDC panicked.

If you’re thinking ‘Fauci’ he had nothing at all to do with creating Warp Speed or the vaccines. The guy who suggested Warp Speed to Trump and then managed it is not hard to discover, except to the usual band of Jab crackpots who apparently can’t figure out how to use Google in 5 full years.
I don’t remember anyone pushing it on Trump. He said he created Operation Warp Speed, and it was one of the greatest accomplishments in history. Isn’t that right?

Again, the hypocrisy here is amazing. Blind eye to Trump pushing vaxes while saying he’s the greatest, ever (agreeing with him, of course), and also saying vax are evil.
As far as “appropriate tests”, that’s impossible for biology. Viri and bacteria may replicate fast, but surely a decent time for biology testing to work out better is maybe 5 years.
The existence of the FDA makes it TOO strung out (often 12 years - we have a friend who works with FDA trying to get approval), but again, it’s biology (and chemistry) we’re talking, not mechanics, so it’s about impossible to be reliable and thorough in a single year.

Oh and as far as being scared poopless about it being like the original SARS - still not an excuse especially in this advanced technology age. Did anyone totally panic over original SARS 20 years ago? No, no one did. Neither did they over Ebola, much, much more dangerous though not nearly as contagious (I was really scared when they would not shut down travel from Africa). Turns out COVID is no WORSE than Swine Flu via 1918 (or now), and likely there seems to be an “obesity” problem with it along with age (my MIL fit just those 2 bills exactly when she died from it on THAT Jan 6 - but the rest of us including my more elderly, frail, and very sedentary mother - none of the rest of us who had it went to any hospital).
