Prayers for your husband. I am retired from a 40 year career as a Fire Department Paramedic. The technology in the Zoll vest would not have been possible in 1975. Our original monitor/defibrillators were the size of a small suitcase and were powered by a car battery. No computers, only human brains to operate them. I had my own MI (heart attack) in 2018 had numerous catheterizations, 2 ablations and a pacemaker. I’ve tried to take care of myself and am now down to only one cardiac med. My advise would be to learn all you can about his condition and therapies. It helps with the anxiety!

I will definitely learn all I can about his conditions and therapies.
Thank you so very much for your testimony about your heart history, your First Responder history, and knowledge about ZOLL and the history of such similar devices.

Yes in 1975 it would’ve had to be as large as a suitcase to use / power and not near the advancement in technology as it is now.

It is my fervent hope that he’ll not have to be on any cardiac meds after a short span of time, but thankful they are available by generic and utilizing Good Rx and the local Walmart to fill. He has no insurance of any kind, I’ve helped him apply SSDI, they’re quibbling but we’re patient.
