A Tennessee woman has been banned from every Walmart in the country after an epic shoplifting spree.
Ashley Cross, 37, cannot enter any of the grocery giant’s 4,600 stores after being caught running a bar code scam.
I’m amazed by this as most of these self-checkout systems know the WEIGHT of items as well as the price. So, you scan a can of corn, it expects the weight in the bagging area to increase by the weight of a can of corn. And they’re VERY sensitive! So I’m amazed she was able to scan a watch battery, and put something else in the bagging area that weighed more.
People also remove the tags from items like $1.25 screwdrivers and do the same thing. I went into Walmart once just to see if it was true, and I found every single screwdriver without a bar code attached to it. I alerted a worker there and he thanked me.
