Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss Ukraine and other issues when he holds talks with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in Moscow, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Qatar played a very big and important role in trying to settle many different situations. Russia, Peskov said, valued its dialog with Qatar, including on sensitive topics.

---- "...when he holds talks...."

Only days back, you were announcing Putin's not being seen in public for a while, as if that portended anything.

This fascinating article mentions upcoming talks "...including on sensitive topics." So there are probably some insensitive topics on the agenda too?

Trump blames Zelensky for starting war after massive Russian attack BBC, 14 April 2025

‘Everybody is to blame’: Trump slams Biden, Zelenskyy and Putin for war in Ukraine Politico, 14 April 2025

Our President Trump passes out the blame. Yup.

And Poland's Tusk tells it like it is:

“500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians. [...] Europe today lacks the belief that we are truly a global force.”

Europe is not a global force. It is a polyglot of tiny countries plus three larger but mostly neutered by countries. The larger ones are neutered by socialism which encourages the people to sit on their butts and ask for someone else to solve their problems. The British, French and Germans make all the right blustery noises, but in the end, they want the US to stand in front of them. Very far in front.

Agreed. The laughable Starmer stance of a "coalition of the willing" which would so happily REQUIRE that "backstop" from us is a case in point.

If the Europeans actually believed they could win a land war in Eastern Ukraine against Russia, they would have marched their uniformed troops in to fight as an alliance with the corrupt Zelensky regime. And -- they haven't.

As you say, "but in the end, they want the US to stand in front of them. Very far in front."

I find it hilarious the corrupted little beggar Z is excluded from the world’s Ukie Peace talks…..but after all, he is still an illegitimate unelected President.

Vlad will not sign anything illegitimate deal. I don’t blame him.

Putin is linking the peace settlement to EU sanctions relief. That’s why Rubio and Witkoff are in Paris for the next 3 days.

The huddle in Paris with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be the latest in a series of high-stakes gatherings — and will come after Kyiv and Moscow hold talks in Saudi Arabia with the United States on Monday.

Well, no. I pay no mind to Armstrong, while this fellow seems to stick in your craw enough to think you made an effective slur. Missed by a mile. The only Socrates I studied was am Athenian character in the works of Plato and Xenophon.

Meanwhile, this short little thread -- short like the Jerusalem Post article -- goes limp with 'excitement.'

Freeper marcusmaximus started this out at 6:20:31 AM, and our little "lol" exchange extends to 12 whole comments fourteen hours later. Intense, ain't it, bubba?
