The New Testament was originally written in Koine Greek, the widespread language of the region at the time. Only a few quotes from Jesus are in the Aramaic language. IDK if the “brother/cousin” equivalence, argued here by many, is accurate for the Greek. In any case, believing whether James was a brother or a cousin seems to me to have nothing to do with salvation.
