Microsoft told me you’re not supposed to remove the folder even if Windows 11 allows you to. That’s because it’s linked to a security patch for a bug titled “CVE-2025-21204“, which is a flaw that allows attackers to modify the system files or folders.

Really not much unless you are making a server. There are a couple desktop client apps that also set up a server for hosting a page in their network, like Zeronet and Gemini. But other than that I can’t think of why it would be needed. They took it out, but now put it back? I agree... Something is up their sleeve.
