Ok Race Fans, I'm going to see if there's enough FReepers interested in The INDYCAR Series for 2025 to do this for the Season. If there's enough then I'll start an INDYCAR PING LIST and have Threads for the rest of the Season.
This is the 3rd Race of the Season and next month Race 4 is The Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, AL followed by The Indianapolis Motor Speedway hosting Race 5 the SONSIO GRAND PRIX on the Road Course and Race 6, the 109th Running of The Indianapolis 500 on the Oval to finish out the month of May.
Yes
Welcome !
I will be back in a few. Gotta let the Dog Pack out.
Sign me up. I first attended the Long Beach Grand Prix back in the mid to late 70s, I think it was Formula 1 at that time. I have probably attended that race 30 to 35 times and it was always a great experience. Heh, I was even there when they were filming the movie Driven, with Sylvester Stallone and they drove a camera car by telling the crowd to cheer. I think the best races came during the CART era. I’m not a fan of all the tracks they run now, and I certainly don’t know how they call the cars open wheel any more, but this is the only series I still make an attempt to follow.
I am interested in Indycar, but more interested in IMSA. Both are running at Long Beach this weekend.
If you get a list goin— add me to it please? I like indy- though do prefer F-1
Sign me up, please.
I’m In!
Long Beach is a Great Track!
Lots to Do and Great Place to do it!
I’m here!
Please include me.
I attended the first F-race in Long Beach, in the mid-to-late 70s. Seems to me that first race wasn’t actually “F1” but rather a smaller F-car.
My viewing experience at that race put me off, because we saw so little actual action. Haven’t attended another race since, inasmuch as television coverage is so much more comprehensive.
I’m in. Alexander Rossi is from a small town not too far away from here.
Sign me up! We’ll be at the Birmingham race - all weekend! We’ve got one of our daughters, her husband and four grandkids into Indycar as well. Great family fun at the beautiful Barber Motorsports Park.
I’m in.
Sir Chode➡️ The Grand Poobah of Formula One Race and GP General Purpose FR Threads has graciously allowed Me to use the F1 List to get the word out about this Thread.
IF ANYONE WANTS TO BE TAKEN OFF THE NEW NTT🏎️INDYCAR PING LIST PLEASE EITHER CONTACT ME WITH A POST OR FRMAIL AND I WILL REMOVE YOU.
PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT Chode ABOUT BEING REMOVED FROM THE NEW INDYCAR PING LIST
Thanks for the response and I will be answering All of Y’All individually in the morning. My eyes are bothering Me right now and I’m going to install some medication and give them a break for now.
Please count me in!
Long Beach has become one of my favorite circuits in Indycar.
Let’s do it !!
This will be about my 25th LBGP the first being 1978 back in the F1 days. Will be hanging out at Bubba Gumps in the early AM for Bloody Mary’s while the practice laps are going on. That’s fun as there are no crowds yet and the cars are all of 20 feet away as they maneuver around the fountain.
Then I will be in Grand Stand 36 for the race which is at the end of the Shoreline straight away. There is a lot of heavy downshifting / braking and and some passing. Some big screens are real close as well as it’s pretty much impossible to see much of the course even being near the top of the Grandstand.

Yep, first year only was Formula 5000. Then about 8 years of F1, then CART and now Indy. I saw a lot of the greats divers over the years, Lauda, both Andretti’s, Schector, Villeneuve, Fittipaldi, Regazzoni, Watson, Unser Jr.
