“ gaslighting the American people would be for a non-white to play Snow White;”
They have been doing it for a few decades now. They cast a partial black girl in one of the Mission Impossible movies and she was just blah. Saw her in a cell phone commercial, thats not much of a resume enhancer.
Yeah...I grew up with Nickelodeon, and the Disney channel...and the Disney channel at the time was things like Micky Mouse, Donald Duck...Goofy ect from like the 40s and 50s...very funny cartoons..
There would also be movies like Swiss Family Robinson, Flight of the Navigator...and so on.
Decent programing that a parent would not have to worry about keeping an eye on.
But when we had Disney + for my kids, I had it about a year...and I was listening to it one day and I could hear the wokeness of it just dripping out of the programming.
I canceled it that day.
A year later I got an Iphone the came with like 3 months of Disney+ free.....and I still turned it down.
Supposedly they had updated and re imagined the story for today’s world.
As Rachel said, it’s not 1937 anymore, the Snow White character doesn’t need a prince to save her, he was a stalker ,and she’s going to be the leader she was meant to be.
Apparently all the girl power and being the leader she was meant to be doesn’t appeal to audiences.
Can’t we have a fairy tale and adhere to the original story? Does everything have to be politically correct nowadays.
I think she looks more like Prince Valiant.
…To say nothing of Lawrence of Arabia.
Who cares about Walt’s Satanic Cult. Hope it ends up on the dust heap of histoir.
I remain amazed that the shareholders put up with it
From elsewhere:
” if she were in Anne Frank, the audience would be yelling “She’s in the attic!” before intermission.”
I believe the cost of the movie, with its extensive reshoots, was north of $300 million, and with marketing, the total costs was north of $350 million. And the 50% to the producers rule is only for domestic box office. In China the number is 25%-35%. Disney getting 40% of the foreign box office is generous.
$71.3 million Domestic Box Office X 50% + $91.3 million Foreign Box Office x 40%= $31.57 Million + $36.52 Million = $68.09 Million.
So, as of today, Disney is more than $200 million in the hole, even using their numbers, and not including marketing, and not considering the cost of the money that has been tied up for years. Which makes the real loss close to, if not over, $300 million.
Without Snow Brown out there trashing the original Snow White so maliciously, I suspect the current iteration would have been break-even at best and probably a money loser though not so starkly as it is. It already had bad reviews and bad prognostications without her and would have probably had a much better first week followed by a decline as moviegoers passed the word that it isn’t any good..
Reminds me of COAL BLACK AND THE SEBEN DWARFS(1943).

Yep. Sad isn’t it. I love the old Wonderful World of Disney programming. Just hard to find it. Charlie the Lonesome Cougar was a fav.
She doesn’t have any movie upcoming which an actress typically would in current situation. But she totally screwed herself.
I presume Disney will get to write off the losses against their income tax bill. If so, that’s too bad. Stupid ought to hurt.
Snow Woke got its metaphorical butt kicked by a Minecraft movie that is, by all accounts, rather silly; the lines waiting to get into the theater populated by young men who aren't there for political sermonizing but just to have a good time. The result was more revenue in a weekend than Snow Woke pulled in during a three-week run. Does that tell the marketeers and "imagineers" at Disney anything? It should.
Irony wins again.
The animated movie that started the Disney empire kills it 85 years later.
A movie based on a computer game most people don’t play. Kids I’ve known just watched videos of other people playing it.
Weird.
