A woman has died after a police chase resulted in a serious crash in a Welsh town. The collision happened on Monday evening in the Hightown area of Wrexham. Two days later, on Wednesday, a 47-year-old woman involved in the crash died in hospital, police have confirmed.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "We can confirm that, sadly, a woman has died following a collision in Wrexham. The 47-year-old from the Wrexham area died in hospital on Wednesday, March 26, after sustaining serious injuries in the incident in Hightown shortly after 9.30pm on Monday, March 24. Her family are being supported by specially trained officers.

"The collision happened between Belgrave Road and Percey Road, as a silver Mercedes car made off from police and collided with a Toyota car. The occupants of the Toyota, a man, and the 47-year-old woman, were subsequently transferred to Stoke hospital with serious injuries, where she sadly died. The man continues to receive treatment for life-changing injuries.

"Two men, the driver and a passenger of the Mercedes, left the scene of the incident. Five people were arrested in connection with the incident yesterday, Thursday, March 27. A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, while extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate a second man who left the scene. A 20-year-old woman, two men aged 37 and a 50-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. The 22-year-old man and the 20-year-old woman have since been released on conditional bail as enquiries continue. The 50-year-old and the 37-year-old men remain in custody, where they are being interviewed by detectives."

Detective Chief Superintendent Sian Beck said: "Our deepest sympathies are with the woman's family at this incredibly sad and difficult time, who are receiving support from specialist officers. We continue to follow firm lines of enquiry to locate a second man who left the scene, and I would like to hear from anyone who can assist with our investigations, to ensure those responsible are brought to justice. I would also like to thank those who have already spoken to officers, your information has been invaluable to our investigation. Anyone with information should contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference number 25000244712. You can also make a report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

North Wales Police have referred themselves to the Independent Office for Police Conduct following the incident.

“Five people were arrested in connection with the incident”

“A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving”

“A 20-year-old woman, two men aged 37 and a 50-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender”

Looks like Coulter’s Law is in effect here.

"The collision happened between Belgrave Road and Percey Road, as a silver Mercedes car made off from police and collided with a Toyota car"

The victim would have probably lived if she lived in America, and could afford to own and drive a large 4.6L+ SUV instead of a 1100cc Euro-death-trap.

P.S. We know no EVs were involved because there was no mention of a fire, and neither vehicle was a Tesla.
