Around The Homestead, this time of year is PHONEY Spring: High temps in the 70's one week, six inches of snow and below freezing the next and anybody plants outside before the middle of May is wasting seed/plants.
....and Grandma, who grew up way up in NE Montana, will recall her HS graduation in two feet of snow and doesn't plant garden until Memorial Day....or later if she doesn't get the right vibrations.
Me? I just run the shovel whenever/wherever Grandma tells me to go.
(Spend working days gettin' bossed by the livestock and "free" time bossed by Grandma. Snort.)
Slide... ))) ))) )))

Phoney spring is right, Vet. One day it’s lovely, then the next week it’s miserable. It’s like a tease. A weather tease. I’ve learned to not plant anything that’s not frost hearty until close to May 24 weekend. Even then it’s possible for a nice cold surprise! A month ago the grands were doing cartwheels and round-offs in tee shirts and bare feet across the lawn. They were so happy it was “summer” and I reminded them that we could have a foot of snow in a few days. They scoffed at me. We had a foot of snow about 4 days later lol.
It is 50 degrees plus and brilliant sun today!
The sun woke me up!
I feel like my “blue funk” is finally lifting.
I know it’s a “phoney” Spring yet, but I’m so happy
to see the sun just the same.
Going for my walk in a little bit.
