The Yankees had an MIT physicist design a "torpedo" bat for them and they've now hit 15 homers in 3 games

Why did you include the fake photo and not the actual one?

like positioning the label of the bat in a prime position for maximum home runs,
= = =
The label is to dindicate the direction of the grain.
Label up is grain paralled to the ground, maximum strength direction for the wood.
Grain perp. to the ground sets the bat up for fracture.

I remember when the NHL introduced curved hockey sticks. It seemed crazy at the time.
I also remember when the NBA would call travelling for running with the ball without dribbling the ball. Now you can run the entire length of the court without dribbling and dunk the ball. Two points.

It’s not illegal. The bats have already been OK’d by the MLB. They DO meet the specifications.

While I do not like it, I must ask however - did any one complain when bat handles were made skinny from what old school bat handles were? It moved the mass up the bat and gave (some say) a whip effect from the skinny handle.
The only complaints I’ve heard is there are more broken bats

This reminds me of NASCAR's Smokey Yunick - he installed something like 50 feet of fuel hose in the car, which gave him a lot of extra fuel.
NASCAR said "HEY you can't do that!" He said it was not in the rules
The next week they had a rule that the fuel line could only be X number of feet.
Smokey then proceeded to use that X length of radiator hose for his fuel line with reducers at either end, and it gave him even more extra fuel LOL
NASCAR rules now cover every tiny detail of the cars and the racing sucks.

According to MLB the bats are legal.
MLB’s bat regulations are fairly lax. The “torpedo” bats remain legal so long as they follow MLB Rule 3.02 which states: “The bat shall be a smooth, round stick not more than 2.61 inches in diameter at the thickest part and not more than 42 inches in length. The bat shall be one piece of solid wood.”

Had it been any other team beside the Yankees no one would complain................
