And also that classification and declas authority resides with the POTUS ….but is routinely used on work product by personnel who have been cleared, briefed and trained on the established criteria for assigning such classification levels

Signal was approved for federal phones for communication OUTSIDE of government duties, it has never been authorized as a communication platform for government business.

As for Goldberg, who isn’t authorized to have classified information, sharing such information with someone not authorized is kind of a crime, like federal prison time crime. Like Hillary should have been convicted of.

And by every code of conduct of journalism as well as court rulings, publishing ‘secret’ information after it is public knowledge is by no means a crime.

When he published his article, the only secret was that administration officials were conducting business on Signal and stupidly included them in the conversation.

But it has never been approved for the transmissions of classified information. That was always excluded specifically.

Tell me you are an administrative rule bound lilliputian without telling me you are an administrative state functionary. There was a huge error, committed by Biden's crowd - thinking that Signal is a secure app when it is evidently no such thing. Elon has already talked about the incompetence of government IT. You don't need me to do it. But it is real, and it is a two or three decade old problem. It's built on the same acquisition incompetence coupled with using the same incompetent corrupt inside the swamp contractors to supply all of this stuff. One thing it is not is Trump's fault or Hegseth's fault and certainly not Waltz's fault. The alternative to Signal was simply not to talk which means forestalling any and all military ops until competent people can create a competent useble secure comms system between the principles. Signal was the Biden administration's answer to the lack of one. The lack of one goes way way way back. In 2016 SecDef Carter tried to create e the Diffense Innovtion Unit to fix this, but that ran into a Congressional and military acqusition buzz saw. It finally got going for real this year in a big way.

There is no quick fix to this problem.
