In a relatively clean environment that is true, but people in China live in the filthiest environment imaginable. If its not the massive airborne pollution from industries without environmental safeguards, its the chemically made food, or its the constant sound of loogies being hawked and spat out everywhere, or its the expensive price of medical treatment and the high bribes needed to get decent care, or its the lack of jobs for millions and millions, or its the high prices for just about everything, it is quite believable that Covid did kill them.
There are no social services in China, there is no medicare, no medicaid. You can only get the care you need, if you can afford to pay the brides. Many, many resort to traditional Chinese medicine as the remedies are much cheaper and no bribes are needed.

Covid is no more severe than other respiratory illnesses. Deaths didn't surge until after people were vaccinated for C19. China was home to devastating versions of swine flu and these living conditions they face have been in place for quite some time.

Speaking along the same lines, recent disclosures have shown that the lithium content in Beijing pregnant women is 170% over the maximum healthy level of 10 ug/dl. This information has of course been heavily suppressed by CCP authorities. It seems that their disposal protocols for expended lithium batteries leaves something to be desired. It’s in their air, food and water.
