We have knife control right here in America. If you don’t believe me go look at your local city, county, state regulations regarding carrying a knife.

The state wide statutes are usually located on State Police websites.

They usually differ city to city, county to county, state to local... it’s quite confusing, but they do exist.

Pocket knife regulations all over the country are Byzantine

I read an interesting piece which said that switchblade bans came into effect because the legislators watched the West Side Story and went cuckoo

I N.J. A pocket knife with a 3 inch blade is legal, anything over that is considered a concealed weapon. With a sharp 3 inch knife, you could do a lot of damage, even kill. I’ve seen deer dressed with a 3 inch blade. Razor sharp of course.

True… it’s been getting better here and there the last few years. But it’s a crazy quilt of nonsense laws of which half are based on that movie, West Side Story.

In IL, the blade is limited to 4 inches and you can’t carry a, “butterfly knife” unless you have a FOID card.

Fricking convoluted.
