Interesting that the bullet could have come from either direction and in the front it would have been above the hairline.

This illustration would be in error according to Dr. McClellan’s account, per the link posted by SunkenCiv earlier. This illustration suggests that the fatal bullet came from the back right and exited the front right temple.

According to Dr. McClellan’s handwritten statement, the bullet entered the left front at the hairline and exited the right rear.Italics are mine.
