Although I don’t believe in any pagan practices I was interested in the part of the Joseph Campbell TV lectures and interviews where he described the effect of hearing a large group of male Buddhist monks chanting a sonorous series of notes. He said there was a big effect to him from the deep voices resonating in the building and in him. Sort of a bone conduction. They think it is aligning spiritual and human realms.

The Hindus believe the beginning of creation was in the “Aum” or “Om” sound which when properly sounded includes all the vowels within it.

The Christian choirs in your video link have something in common with both of those, in my opinion.

Agreed—you are on the right track.

Joseph Campbell focused on the similarities of belief systems from all over the world—rather than the differences.
