Why ignore Howard Storm?
In the 1980s, Howard Storm was an atheist. He was an art professor who was visiting France with his art students when he had a very serious medical condition. His medical condition was ignored by the hospital until it was "too late." Howard describes what happened after he left his body and demons tried to take him to Hell. He describes how he kept hearing a voice, saying "pay for Jesus." over and over again. Howard did go to church as a youth, so he started paying every bit of prayers he could remember. Accordingly he went to heaven and talked to Jesus for many years (according to Howard, time does not exist in heaven). After he returned to his body, he had a very serious time recuperating. However, he completely changed his life around and later became a Methodist paster (I think in the 1990s).
I listen to Youtube videos about Near Death Experiences. There are some fakes, that to me seem to be discernable after you listen to a bunch of them. To me, one way of telling whether they are being truthful is if they completely change their life around. From all documentable details, Howard is truthful: He was an atheist. He was an art professor. He had a medical situation that he should not have lived through. He completely changed his life- he went from a comfortable life as an art professor to an impoverished pastor (The church he was assigned to was on the brink of being closed due to lack of attendance.). Every penny he could give to the church from his very small salary was given back to the church. Etc... .
Howard has written two books; one about his experience in heaven and the other about his life after. Neither books are polished. The books are kind of like a book your uncle would write to a nephew.
I choose to believe Howard.
That statement was due to some unscriptual teachings from Storm as well as some that are far out. I see not gospel, no telling of redemption of damned + destitute sinners being saved by the sinless blood of Christ, and Storm's Christ seems more like a cross-less liberal. Storm has many tales of alleged answers by Storm's Jesus and angels gave him.

[Storm, before his Jesus in Heaven] thought, "Do you know what I am thinking?" He [Jesus ] then said, "Not only do I know what you are thinking, I know everything that you ever thought." Then he thinks of all the stuff he did - when he went to the bathroom as a teenager to relieve himself, all the times he wanted to break someone else's neck. Then all of a sudden, he thinks a very vivid image of a naked woman. And at this point, he hears Jesus laughing, as he thought that was so funny.
Howard then asks Jesus what should he do when he comes back. Jesus answers, "Love the person you are with." Then what? Jesus then says, "That's it, love the person you are with."..."when you love another person, that person will then love others as well."
Howard asked, "Are there other worlds?" ...On other planets there is not such a depravity of sin, nor do they give in to temptation to do evil as much as here. Howard then asked to see what other intelligent beings looked like. Images were then paraded in from of him, beginning with those who looked human like us. From the human form, they began to get more stranger and stranger, until they became unrecognizable as human beings, and "very weird" as he puts it. - https://dream-prophecy.blogspot.com/2014/06/swedenborg-on-near-death-experience-of.html [This is a Swedenborg site, for they see much correspondence btwn Storm the demonic Swedenborg - see here.
Note the lack of any mention of redemption in Storm's extended testimony, both the need and Biblical means of provision. Instead, salvation by morality is what is offered.
Storm reports...“beings of light” answered his questions. ... These beings told him that the “correct religion” is that religion which “brings you closest to God.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_Storm_(author))

In Howard Storm's book, My Descent into Death (2000), he describes the future of mankind as given to him by angels he encountered during his NDE in 1985... He asked the angels the question: "Will the United States be the leader of the world in this change?"
The United States has been given more of everything than any country in the history of the world and it has failed to be generous with the gifts. If the United States continues to exploit the rest of the world by greedily consuming the world's resources, the United States will have God's blessing withdrawn....The world will watch in horror as your country is obliterated by strife. The rest of the world will not intervene because they have been victims of your exploitation. They will welcome the annihilation of such selfish people. The United States must change immediately and become the teachers of goodness and generosity to the rest of the world.
He says that the images that he was shown included many terrible things, and that in the United States specifically, the population dropped to "just tens of thousands of people left alive" due to food shortages and the resulting violence caused by the starving population. - https://www.medjugorje.ws/en/articles/economical-collapse-usa-world-howard-storm/
While judgment certainly is inevitable, relative to light give, yet rather than the basis being exploiting the rest of the world by greedily consuming the world's resources - which must be weighed relative to productivity, and how much that helps the world - then the immorality of abortion, homosexual relations and such would be what one would expect as primary sins.
Howard Storm now has the opportunity to ask whatever question he wants. First question: why did you create us? Answer: the world is God's garden, and he created you to bloom in that garden and be beautiful. God make everyone of us unique and special, to be beautiful in your own way. I was a bit struck with the simple answer to this question. Being an artist he thinks he would build Jesus a shrine. Jesus says he would rather he did not do that. Howard then asks Jesus what should he do when he comes back. Jesus answers, "Love the person you are with." Then what? Jesus then says, "That's it, love the person you are with." Howard cannot believe that's all he should do, and asks Jesus how will that help. Jesus then said because doing that you will change the world - when you love another person, that person will then love others as well.
