I went to college with a bunch of Iranian Midshipmen. Most of them were OK. When the revolution started and they took hostages they were kicked out of the country.
The “good ones” were able to get out of Iran and they were back at the school as civilians within a year. They had horrible stories.
The “Bad ones” were all about the revolution and went back and went to war for years against Iraq.
The Persian people are generally good people. But they don’t have the means (the guns) to take out the IRG. I don’t think it would take much to topple the Ayatollahs.
But, that said, only a moron would attempt anything but a bombing and economic campaign against them. The geography of that country is pretty nasty.
I imagine we know where all of these missile bunkers are located and we have big bombs assigned to each one.
They don’t want a nuke. They want normalization with the West. Pezeshkian couldn’t have been more consistent or more clear about it. Iranians are people, the same as Russians or you and me.
There’s no reason to attack them before SINCERE peace negotiations are tried.
