He's probably a hunt and peck typist instead of someone who learned to touch-type so he skips the capitalization's to make it quicker and easier. If you learned to type in school than it's trained into you to hit the shift key and it's routine.

He's probably a hunt and peck typist I used to be a touch typist and took typing for a full year in 8th grade. But I was on a climbing trip on Cerro Aconcagua, Argentina and was in a very cold storm on part of the climb and got frostbite on four fingertips, two on each hand. I did not lose any fingers, but the feeling never fully returned. Now I have to look because I can't feel the key strokes on some finger tips. I have empathy for Hunt and Peck typists. But I do use CAPS!
