Just as I was retiring in 2017, probably 5 or 6 of the college student women were telling me their female friends in their 20s were deliberately getting pregnant in hopes that their boyfriend would marry them, but not one of the couples they knew had that result. The guys would rather pay child support than be trapped into marriage.
On the bright side, at least the kids weren’t aborted.
Given family courts and divorce, I can somewhat understand that.
