I can see that happening when a university is doing important medical research, like looking for a cure for some terrible disease.

Such grants would have to be very selectively awarded. But unfortunately, I don’t think government bureaucrats are capable of making wise decisions.

So we end up funding studies on how gay mice behave in Australia.
