Working a very rural area with back up many 10’s of miles away.
Asking nicely worked a lot better.
“Keeping an eye on someone” does not need to be taken literally.
One technique I have seen used on the cop shows is to put a tracker on the vehicle(s) in the driveway if the perp does not allow entry.
Then the “following” is done by a clerk in the office who can notify field folks when the subject has left home and where they are going or where they have stopped.
The cops can then drive to the location when they are able to do so and confirm the perp is in the vehicle—and if so arrest them.
No problem. Take them with you.
Gee, that's an interesting question. Were justice truly blind and applied equally to all -- neither of which is wholly accurate in this heavily-politicized world -- she would be an accomplice to a crime, albeit minor compared to many.
The system is broken for those of us who want to obey the law. It took us 20 years and about $20k in legal fees to get our citizenship. Throw out the criminals and cheaters, but fix it for law abiding people who want to be good citizens who contribute positively to the country.
Further, everyone knows that the I-130 process takes well over a year, even in the best of circumstances... and a broken leg hardly compares to the usual reasons for expediting an I-130, like Christians being beheaded in their home country, etc.
but even us folks who try to do things legally are hurt badly by our immigration system.
Many folks wait 8-10 YEARS to gain entry, when doing it legally. You already had her here for almost a decade. Consider yourself lucky. If you miss her that badly, go stay in her nation for a few years while you await processing. IF it gets approved.
I guess you missed my point.

No, just saying that rules/laws have
consequences when broken. Good, bad
or indifferent life goes on and live
with what you have. And you appear
to be doing so. Take care.
He would be wise to self deport and get a good lawyer on the I-130 process. His wife is being stupid.
Yeah the I-130 process is painful. Last year I had been 3 years outside the US becsuse of this. My wife and I followed the laws.
Only 20 million more to go.
(Eliminate the H1-B)
Thank you.
Because refusing to comply with law enforcement after breaking the law repeatedly over a 12 year period should be rewarded with citizenship, no? Deport this guy but don’t bother landing the plane on his return flight. A push and a parachute is equal to the respect he’s shown America.
Try the same manuever in India and see how much humanity is shown.
He has the right to leave the US and apply for legal immigration.
There car details to your story that are not clear. First of all are you an American citizen.
If you married her in 2018 and she had status at the time, which seems to be so since she said her visa does not expire till 2024, then why did you not apply for a green card for her.
If she was in the country legally, meaning she had status, and you are a US citizen, and you married her in 2018, then this all does not make sense.
Marriage means you get to file I-130, pay about 2k in fees total, and the process often takes 2 years until you have a Green Card. Been there. Done that.
It cost the IRS more as they lost nearly 100k in tax revenue due to how long the process takes & me choosing to spend most of ny time overseas with my wife.
>> I thought marriage to a US citizen was the magic wand that
>> made even the most unclean illegal a USCIT.
>> Is that not true?
That is not true at all.
You follow a lengthy application process, background checks, interviews, pay fees including legal fees and in the end you are still subject to the sole discretion of an immigration officer.
I personally went through the process, as my wife came over on a fiancee visa (she’s a US citizen now). We had a very “clean” case with no red flags or complications, but when the time came to get her permanent green card, USCIS demanded additional evidence as to the bona fide of our marriage. At the time my wife was pregnant with our son. Our lawyer wrote them a strongly worded letter, attaching the medical evidence - basically saying, they are having a child together, what further evidence do you need.
Do you work for USCIS? Jokingly, but your reply echoes the strict bureaucratic attitude of decision makers there. There’s no way the I-130 should take a year to 18 months. This is a sharp increase over the traditional waiting time. Also, there’s no reason for either our hardship petition or our request for expedited processing to have been denied, as we provided ample documentation. If these forms of relief are only available to people in fear of decapitation then the posted guidelines should state this (/s). They do not. The problem for many of us seeking legal relief appears to be an inordinate lack of compassion within the bureaucracy.
Since you live alone did you think about going to Vietnam and working it from that side?
I am a natural citizen. We got bad legal advice in 2019. A lawyer told us we couldn’t apply for green card until the 2-year “return” requirement was met. Last year, a much better attorney advised us differently.
