For the fiftieth anniversary of Doctor Who there was a TV movie about how the show began. The series premiered on the day after JFK was killed. There’s a scene where Doctor Who’s creator Sydney Newman is reading the script that Terry Nation has turned in for the first Daleks story. As Newman is reading the description of the Dalek, the scene is shifting back and forth to what you come to realize are close-ups of the Manlicher-Carcano rifle that Oswald supposedly used. It was a VERY neat sequence juxtaposing the real-life weapon with the fictional cyborg.
