We know who they are and how they operate.

So you have checked their immigration status, arrested them charged them with fraud and or sued them into oblivion. No?

So a bot makes an appointment for “Jose Rodriguez” and the scalper sells that appointment slot. But then “Juan Garcia” shows up for the appointment. Does the DMV agent just let Juan take “Jose’s” appointed slot?

If the dmv system is so broke that scalpers can sell free appointments, the actual solution is to fix the system.

It’s so broke here in Maryland that it once took five trips and nine hours to register a car. A simple task that is their main job.

I’m thankful that I live in a small rural town where one can just drop by the DMV and walk up to the counter and take care of business right away.

If the offices are so badly run and understaffed that people are willing to pay $250 to skip the line, maybe the DMV needs to be fixed instead of the scalping. If the scalpers grab the spots and try to sell them with no one buying the slot, it should only take a minute to run through the no shows and get right to in person walk-ins.

In Ohio in the past couple decades I had to wait behind two people once. Other than that I had an open window or just a one person wait. Most plate renewals are handled online and you only need a license eye test every eight years (instead of every renewal at four years like previously)

Scalp? I’m sorry, I never heard that word before.
