An Orange County couple who came to the U.S. without authorization some 35 years ago, raised three daughters and now have a new grandson were deported to Colombia earlier this week, according to media reports.
Nelson Gonzalez, 59, and his wife Gladys Gonzalez, 55, originally entered the states near San Ysidro before ultimately settling in Laguna Niguel and starting their family.
While the couple tried numerous legal avenues to remain in the country over the years, including appeals to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Board of Immigration Appeals, a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told The Orange County Register that the Gonzalez’s had “exhausted all legal options to remain in the U.S. between March 200 and August 2021,” and were ultimately in violation of immigration law.
Their three daughters, Gabby, 23, Jessica, 33, and Stephanie, 27, all U.S. citizens, told KTLA that they were devastated when they learned their parents had been detained on Feb. 21 during a regular check-in with U.S. immigration officials.

This organiztion was widely known to have aided/guided illegals to cross South America to the American border--and once illegally across, Catholic Charities housed, fed, and otherwise aided the illegals as they adjusted to their criminal life in the USA.

Crime has consequence. Parents caused family to be separated. Parents likely stole much (helps while being illegal) through years of living illegally in USA. Kids arent devasted about that though, seems they arent American in values.

Exactly, plus did they ever submit and get tax return? Any other “assistance”? Take jobs meant for Citizens? Many illegal acts though maybe no actual record of the numerous crimes like if they “bought” their house, etc

An extreme case but not unlike the ‘dreamers’ situation. They have had years to apply for, study for, and acquire USA citizenship. Not having done so is on them.
People keep saying that they “had years to apply for citizenship and legal status etc.”. In reality, if you are in the country illegally, you don’t have “years to apply for citizenship” based on being in the country for 35 years. You can only apply for permanent residence and citizenship if you have entered the country legally on some type of temporary visa.

Catholic Charities is one of the most subversive organizations in the country. They take huge sums of taxpayer dollars and work full time to change the demographics away from people with the American ideal to those who are unassimilated and have no intention of ever being assimilated into the American culture which provided American exceptionalism. All to the benefit of their Marxist allies in the Democrat party.
I’ve been on USAA auto since I got my learners permit many decades ago.
I got a bank account with them after the 2008 crash. I figured there was no way a bank used by a large percentage of the armed forces was ever going to be allowed to fail. So they became our secondary bank account.
Now, I’m really wondering if I shouldn’t be looking for someone new. Huge hassle, I only have like 6 insurance items with them, and that is counting the cars as a single item.
